The Kuala Lumpur Butterfly Park’s website stated:
This is the largest butterfly garden in the world spanning over 80,000 sq ft of landscaped garden with over 5,000 live butterflies, exotic plants, butterfly-host plants and ferns. Other attractions are Japanese koi fish, fresh water turtles, live insects and a museum with a large collection of butterflies and insects from around the world.
With that in mind and the various images shared on the world wide web, we descended into this place with great anticipation…I had in the past year visited Penang Butterfly Park and was really blown away by the beauty and varied species of these beautiful winged insects.
We were the first guests to arrive. Apparently very few had showed up to work, including the butterflies!
First no monkeys in Batu Caves, now no butterflies except the ones stuck dead under the glass!!! Come on! What in the world happened?
The plants were beautiful and lush. The Japanese koi swam towards Shane when he walked close to the edge of the pond. They were a beauty BUT we didn’t pay admissions to see fishes.
It was a big disappointment. No one could tell us why there weren’t any butterflies. The only highlight of this trip was seeing a butterfly landed on Shane’s hand.
We wouldn’t recommend going to this place but if you must, do call the park in advance and ask if they have lots of butterflies in house 😛
