When you have an inquisitive and active grandkid, it is always a fun time to take him exploring new places. We are blessed to be living in Spokane, WA. It’s a city with a small town feel, lots of nature trails, dozens of lakes and ski resorts within 1 and 1/2 hour drive, massive waterfall downtown, vine yards and fruit orchards to name a few. Today, we plan on picking apples in Green Bluff.
A 30 minutes car ride took us to Mead, WA and our destination – Walter’s Fruit Ranch. Walter’s Fruit Ranch is a UPick orchard in the heart of Green Bluff. The orchard grows strawberries, cherries, apricots, peaches, nectarines, apples and pumpkins. We are here today for apples. We took a hay ride and were dropped off on the apple orchard. We picked some apples, rode on the wheelbarrow (that was fun!), ran after our grandson and watched the sheep. Shane wanted to play Corn Hole and our grandson thought it was fun picking up the bags and standing on the board. 0_o His mom diverted him to the hay stacks where he could climbed and jumped down. This small bundle of energy wasn’t even tired when we call it a day! He only slept on the way back.
